Light Bulb Wreaths

It's been close to 15 years ago when my obsessive vintage holiday hoarding led me to acquire a large stash of old C9 light bulbs.
I eventually decided to try making a wreath with those lights and it turned out pretty well.
My light bulb wreaths are a GeorgiaPeachez original design and I've perfected the method over the years.
I'm working on a few of these wreaths for this year.
These bulbs are pretty hard to come by now, so I will only get a few made and then that is it until I can find another load of old C9's.
Remember when those were the standard size for your tree and for the house?  That was back in the old days (my youth) and there was no such thing as white mini lights either.
There is no comparison today for the great range of colors those old lights came in.

This Wreath Is A Stunner!

I finished the pink/turquoise wreath that I started a couple of days ago.
I started with this large wreath form and added extra large 3" vintage Shiny Brites all around the outside.
Then I pulled out all my most stunning vintage ornaments, even some from my personal collection.
This wreath is packed with over 100 extraordinary ornaments.
Just click the picture to see it full size.
This wreath is a stunner at 20" across.  Quite the statement piece for sure.
This wreath is available, but you must contact me directly for pricing.
Write to me here. if you are interested.
This post will be updated once the wreath is no longer available.

Under Construction

This wreath is a big one, at 20" in diameter.
Those vintage pink/blue shiny brites are the big ones measuring 3" in diameter.
It's going to take a massive amount of ornaments to fill this bad boy out.

Early Bird

My house is already decorated for the holidays.  Crazy, I know.
But my schedule is so busy this year, it was do it now or wait till the middle of December.
So of course I did it now.
The white tree that I put in my dining room is one of my favs.  But then they are all my favs.
I only put up 6 trees this year, that is down from 9 that I had in previous years.
I definitely qualify as a crazy christmas lady.  That's ok.

70's Vibe

My favorite decade was the 70's.
I was in my teens then and of course I have fond memories of ponchos and gaucho pants and maxi skirts and platform sandals.
I made a wreath today with my favorite color combos from that era.
Gold, turquoise, hot pink and green.
The burlap angel and the little angel with a turban just seal the deal for me.
This gem is heading over to One Kings Lane in the near future.
Peace.

Reindeer in the House

I adopted a nice herd of dream pet reindeer at an estate sale this morning.
I found a couple of the cutest little pixies too and some awesome Made in Japan vintage garland. Yeah!
This box was a steal and I only needed a quick peek in the first drawer to know that I needed to snag it.
The rest of the contents was like a surprise grab box.
A very pleasing surprise box too.

Another Wreath Feature!!

Another of my wreaths has appeared in a Romantic Homes publication!
This publication by Romantic Homes is on the newstand now.  I found my copy at Target today.
Last year, one of my wreaths was on the cover of Romantic Homes magazine.  I had actually sent two wreaths to California to be photographed and this is that second wreath on page 16 of the Vintage Holiday Christmas magazine.
I had no idea, I was quite surprised standing there in Target flipping through this magazine!!
Well, I have gathered together so many vintage christmas goodies and I am working on getting as many wreaths to my store as possible so that everyone can have one this year.
Right now I have four wreaths in the shop with many more to come.

This One's For ME

I've made hundreds of wreaths over the last few years, and passed each one along to it's new home.
The wreaths that I made and have in my own personal collection were made many years ago.
This season I made a buying trip to one of my favorite places on this earth, Suzanna's Antiques.
I brought home many wonderful ornaments to use in my wreaths, and I also found this cutie.
This guy is an impressive 10 inches high, even in his tucked posture.  He still maintains his Made in Japan label and he is stuffed with excelsior.
Love the avocado green burlap.  Love at first sight actually.

I brought him home, knowing that he would become the focal piece of a new wreath, for the GeorgiaPeachez  family collection.
I've been saving and setting aside many wonderful 70's kitschy ornaments just for a future and personal wreath project.
He is a happy elf with his new home.
You can see that my personal taste
in vintage Christmas really skews to the wacky side.

Speechless

I'm just tongue tied and speechless.

What is this??
This is just the most amazing collection of vintage ornaments.
Uh---maze---ing.
